Cajón hincado con interrupción del tráfico en Denton Avenue, Long Island (NY), para el proyecto de ampliación de la Tercera Vía del LIRR de Hicksville a New Hyde Park. Forma muy particular de sección abierta, debido a un canal subterráneo existente en medio del trayecto. En lugar de un paso inferior común de sección rectangular, la estructura constaba de 2 bases conectadas por un diafragma horizontal.

Un antiguo paso inferior existente de 1888 fue demolido el mismo fin de semana de cierre, antes de las operaciones de levantamiento.

Instead of a common rectangular cross section underpass, the structure in this particular case consisted in 2 footings connected with an horizontal diaphragm.
